SEG-Y_r2.1 Exchange Data Format – Knowledge, Capture, Auto-Read

Troika International was tasked by the NPD to assess the readiness of the Norwegian operators to submit data in SEG-Y_r2 format. There was a reluctance to comply so the NPD may mandate the submission of all seismic data in the new format.
Why are the NPD doing this? The SEG has ratified the new SEG-Y_r2 to enable the capture of key trace header entries ready for ML, AI, and the cloud.
